The VPD process

From the first assessment to completion and handover.

A well-resolved project begins before the first layer is applied: with the substrate, scope, details and sequence of work on site.

Working model

Three phases. Nine clear steps.

Each phase follows the client journey, with the detailed steps shown underneath.

01—03

Assessment

We gather the initial information and identify what else is needed for a responsible decision.

  1. 01
    We begin with the surface

You send photos, approximate area, location, substrate information and preferred timing. You do not need to diagnose the material yourself.

  2. 02
    We review the enquiry

We check whether the work fits our scope and what information is still missing.

  3. 03
    We assess the conditions

Depending on the application, we consider stability, cracks, movement joints, wet areas, geometry and details.

04—05

Agreement

The effect, details, responsibilities and offer must describe the same scope.

  1. 04
We agree the effect and boundaries

We define the surface character, material junctions, preparation and responsibilities of the parties involved.

  2. 05
    We confirm the offer

The offer and sequence reflect the assessed scope and dependencies on other trades.

06—09

Execution and handover

Preparation, system stages and control of details lead to completion of the agreed work.

  1. 06
    We prepare the surface

We protect the surroundings, clean the surface and complete the preparation agreed after assessment of the substrate.

  2. 07
    We apply the system layers

Successive stages are completed according to the agreed solution and conditions on site.

  3. 08
    We control the details

During the work we check edges, junctions, geometry and alignment with the agreed visual direction.

  4. 09
    We protect and hand over

We complete the agreed scope and provide the information needed for correct use and care.

The work is visible

The finished photograph is only one part of the process.

Preparation, application, edge control and handover are different moments within the same scope.

Initial assessment

You can begin the first stage now.

Send photos of the surface together with the approximate area, substrate, location and preferred timing. We will explain which information is needed for the next decision.

Enough to get started

  • photos of the whole surface and its details
  • approximate area
  • substrate, or “I don't know”
  • location and preferred timing
You do not need to know the technical system or prepare a complete specification.
